Soccer, Business, Politics, Global Cities, and Global Development in Argentina and Uruguay.
Buenos Aires is one of the world’s great cities and a virtual laboratory to study soccer, politics, human rights, democracy, economics, business, and development. A ten day comparative experience in fabulous Montevideo, Uruguay complements the program. The base program in Buenos Aires and Montevideo offers 9-12 credit hours (May 12 to June 27, 2025). Students will earn up to 12 credit hours (requires 3 credits of independent research that requires additional research and writing after program ends) in two of the fabulous capitals of the hemisphere. Live, learn, experience, and transform while earning GA Tech credit from GA Tech faculty. The program focuses on three topics. The first is the Global City. Buenos Aires and Montevideo are capital cities with innovative policies to improve transportation, education, and the quality of life. The second major theme is on equity, justice, and economic growth. The final theme is the intersection of soccer and politics/society/economics.
