Hi Kirk (Dr. Bowman) !!!
It’s been ages since we’ve caught up!!! I figure since you have probably been one of the five people that have impacted my life the most…I should fill you in on my experiences! ;)
I suppose I caught the travel bug through our adventures in Argentina / Brazil, and Cuba / Spanish LBAT the following summer. I invested my first two college summers abroad, and the final summer, I got an internship with Coca-Cola. At my internship, I constantly exposed my passion for travel, so my mentor at Coca-Cola directed me to a company he’d worked at for fifteen years: Accenture consulting. I went through the recruitment process that fall and landed the job with Accenture starting that January – 2006. As I’m sure you probably know Accenture is a global consulting company (approximately 160,000 folks) that is very fast-paced and works with a lot of the fortune 500’s. Its’ consulting model allows its talent to travel to various client locations throughout the States or the world. The unique thing about the model is that while you are away during the week, you are allowed to travel back to either your home location or to another destination on the weekends. Initially I began working in Atlanta with BellSouth, followed by San Antonio / Austin with the Texas State Government, and finally I’ve been working in Connecticut with the beer, wine, and spirits company Diageo for the last two years. The fantastic thing about Diageo is that they produce vodka in Russia, tequila in Mexico, beer in Jamaica, etc. It’s very global. As a strong match for Diageo, Accenture works very globally and outsources a lot of work to Europe and farther east. This structure has allowed me to work in both Madrid and Milan for periods of time and currently I am based in London working at the global headquarters for the next few years. There is absolutely no way I would be who I am had I not a) gone to Argentina / Brazil and b) initially heard your sales pitch for the program in my Intro to INTA class freshman year. It was something I could not pass up, and the experience / education changed my life significantly...
...I just thought I would share these things with you, and most importantly thank you for your contribution to my life. I hope you and your family are doing extremely well and I wish you all the best.

There were so many free cultural activities. The program flew by. I don't know if I liked Argentina, Uruguay, or Brazil better! I had so much fun and learned so much.
I never knew soccer explained so much!
The best part was traveling to Brazil and living/studying/exploring Rio de Janeiro with Argentine university students. Amazing.
